In Krasnoyarsk, the Sverdlovsky Cultural Center hosted a military-patriotic forum “Let's Preserve Traditions! Let's defend our homeland!” The event is designed to unite young people and the older generation around the ideas of preserving cultural heritage, historical memory and supporting defenders of the Fatherland.
“Today we are holding a patriotic forum that has already become traditional. The event is aimed at educating and strengthening the patriotic spirit of our society and preserving historical memory. This is very important in the year of the 80th anniversary of the Victory, to be in solidarity, to support our guys who are now in the zone of a special military operation,” noted the head of the administration of the Sverdlovsk region, Liliya Nazmutdinova.
An exhibition of military equipment awaited Krasnoyarsk residents on the site in front of the House of Culture. In the Palace of Culture itself, forum participants were shown unmanned aerial vehicles that are assembled in Krasnoyarsk, as well as those that were brought from the front and restored. Citizens could try their hand at operating a UAV, assembling and disassembling a machine gun, and also became acquainted with the basics of tactical medicine.
“Why are they afraid of us? Why are we respected? We have become stronger over the years, thanks to such events, thanks to the attitude of every single person, the desire of our youth to be strong and self-confident, to study and defend their homeland,” said the military commissar of the Sverdlovsk region and the city of Divnogorsk, Lieutenant Colonel Kirill Ostapchuk.
As part of the patriotic event, an exhibition of books dedicated to the memories of WWII veterans and war children of the Sverdlovsk region was organized. One of them was published this year. The people whose destinies formed the basis of the works shared their memories with Krasnoyarsk residents at the forum.
“The book includes the stories of 21 people, all of them categorized as “children of war.” All of these are residents of the Sverdlovsk region, they are already well over 80 years old, but they still take an active position. They take part in the life of not only the district, but also the city – they participate in various events, help in the northwestern military district. Apparently the slogan: “Everything for the front!” Everything for victory! they absorbed it from an early age,” – chairman of the primary veterans organization “Culture”, author of the book Lyudmila Gordova.
Master classes on making trench candles and camouflage nets were organized for everyone at the cultural center.
“Today we present the site of the Youth Army House of our school. We have an installation for weaving anti-drone nets here, we also have it at the school. From grades 1 to 11, kids weave these kinds of nets and we donate them to the “From Siberia to the Sons of Russia” fund, to the war zone. Weaving nets is absolutely not difficult; about 35 people have already learned this business today. So everyone can cope, the main thing is desire,” said Anna Lobanova, deputy director of school No. 148.
Let us remind you that earlier in Krasnoyarsk there were patriotic events under the slogan: “Let's preserve the traditions! We’ll defend our homeland!” took place in Zhelezodorozhny and Leninsky districts.
