Thanks to indexation, their amount increases, which is intended to compensate for the rising costs of living. Understanding who is entitled to these benefits and what their new amounts are allows you to better plan your household budget.

As explained by Infor.pl, care allowance is the most frequently paid additional benefit. From March 1, 2025, it amounts to PLN 348.22 and is granted automatically to people who are over 75 years of age and receive an old-age or disability pension. Younger people may receive this allowance upon application if a ZUS medical examiner finds them completely incapable of working and living independently.. From March 1, 2025, their amount increased by 105.5% thanks to indexation.
People who are completely unable to work and live independently, who do not receive a pension or disability pension from ZUS, may apply for a care allowance at the commune office or social welfare center. It is also worth remembering that from March 1, 2025, the income threshold entitling to the equalization benefit is PLN 3,603.35.

However, retirees and disability pensioners can also apply for other allowances. After indexation, from March 1, 2025, the amount of allowances increased, and the current amounts are as follows:
- allowance for secret teaching — PLN 348.22 (increase by PLN 18.15),
- veteran's allowance — PLN 348.22 (increase by PLN 18.15),
- cash benefit for alternative military service soldiers forced to work in coal mines, quarries, uranium ore mining plants and construction battalions — PLN 348.22 (increase by PLN 18.15),
- care allowance for war invalids — PLN 522.34 (increase by PLN 27.23),
- allowance for a complete orphan — PLN 654.48 (increase by PLN 34.12),
- compensation allowance — PLN 52.23 (increase by PLN 2.72),
- supplement to the war invalid's pension — PLN 1,333.24 (increase by PLN 69.51),
- cash benefit for former miners' soldiers — PLN 348.22 (increase by PLN 18.15),
- energy lump sum — PLN 312.71 (indexation in accordance with the Announcement of the Head of the Office for Veterans and Victims of Oppression).
Thanks to indexation, pension allowances are higher, which may bring financial relief to many people in difficult life situations.
