On Wednesday, Monday, the police conducted eight searches, one of them at the Distrigaz headquarters, in the case of the October 17 explosion, produced in a block in Calea Rahovei, Sector 5 of the Capital. Six people will be taken to hearings, reports G4media, citing judicial sources.

The Romanian Police announces, in an official statement, that on Wednesday, it will conduct eight searches of natural and legal persons, in the criminal file drawn up following the explosion in Rahova.

“This morning, the Romanian Police, under the coordination of the Prosecutor's Office attached to the Bucharest Court of Appeal, is carrying out 8 home searches, of individuals and legal entities, within the criminal file, drawn up following the explosion in Rahova. Of the 8 searches, 4 are carried out in Bucharest, 2 in Ilfov and one each in Prahova and Teleorman counties,” the Romanian Police said.

According to G4Media, the searches are taking place at the Distrigaz headquarters and at Distrigaz employees who carried out the checks before the explosion. The administrators and the two employees of the private company Anproperty Construct SRL, who checked the gas network in the block after the arrival of Distrigaz, are also targeted.

The Romanian police specify that “the activities are aimed at the collection of documents and storage units”.

“After the searches, 6 people will be taken to the headquarters of the Prosecutor's Office attached to the Bucharest Court of Appeal, for the continuation of the investigations. We remind you that, following the tragic event, the Romanian Police and the Prosecutor's Office attached to the Bucharest Court of Appeal carried out several activities, within the framework of the criminal case, namely the on-site investigation and the hearing of some people”, the authorities' statement also indicates.

Three people died and 15 were injured in the explosion that occurred on October 17 in a block on Calea Rahovei, near the “Dimitrie Bolintineanu” High School, in Sector 5 of the Capital. There were 108 apartments in the affected block.

The tenants' association in the block in Rahova that exploded had a contract with the company Amproperyconstruct SRL (AMPCgaz), which the tenants said had broken the seal placed, the day before, by Distrigaz Sud Rețele. The contract was signed on Thursday, October 16. The administrator of the block told the journalists that this company was recommended to them by Distrigaz Rețele Sud to carry out the inspection of the installations and the repairs.
