The approved law provides that military registration and enlistment offices will be able to organize medical examinations of conscripts throughout the year, arrange psychological selection and hold meetings of the draft commission, writes Meduza. They will be sent to the duty station, as before, twice a year – from April 1 to July 15 and from October 1 to December 31. But the summons will be sent to conscripts throughout the year.
The authors of the initiative stated that it was supposedly aimed at “relieving” military commissariats. The explanatory note noted that the new law would evenly distribute the load on conscription centers and improve the quality of conscription of citizens for military service.
