People's deputy said that he had a conversation with Sumy region farmers. If the UZ does raise the tariff for agricultural products by the planned 37%, they will lose their jobs and be forced to lay off people already next year.
Now farmers pay 54 kopecks per ton-kilometer. For some reason, they pay 41 kopecks for ore or coal, that is, even less than the cost price (50 kopecks/tkm). But instead of raising the price for loss-making transportation, UZ thoughtlessly wants to raise it for farmers, who already pay the most.
“What is this – work for certain well-known oligarchs? The Ukrainian farmer, who harvests crops every day under fire, becomes uncompetitive with the Polish farmer, who is systematically supported by the state. “Instead of strangling farmers, it's time for Ukrzaliznytsia to tighten its belts, reduce multimillion-dollar premiums and close corruption schemes,” said Kachura, calling for a global reform of UZ.
