According to the “Expressen” newspaper, on Saturday hackers from the Everest group admitted to seizing 280 GB of data from the Svenska Kraftnaet system and demanded payment for non-disclosure of information. Swedish media reminds that the same group was previously associated with Russian criminals and took responsibility for, among others, for paralyzing check-in systems at several airports in Europe in September.

Digital security expert Karl Emil Nikka expressed hope that hackers “only care about money.” – The advice is always the same, don't pay, he emphasized.

Swedish Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy Ebba Busch announced on the X platform that she is investigating the matter and is in contact with the relevant authorities.
