Manchester City suffered a Premier League defeat as they were beaten 1-0 by Aston Villa at 'Villa Park'. In addition to this negative result, the “citizens” also have reason to worry about the health of Erling Haaland (25 years old), who had a hard collision with the goal post at the end of the game.
The Norwegian star was the protagonist of City's biggest chances but missed on several occasions. After Matty Cash opened the scoring for Aston Villa in the 19th minute, Haaland had a chance to equalise, but Emiliano Martinez blocked his shot from close range.

In the end, the striker scored, but the success was canceled for offside. In the final minutes, the Norwegian suffered a violent collision with the goal post and looked visibly affected, leaving for the dressing room with his head bowed.
Pep Guardiola sent a message about Haaland's condition
At the end of the match, Pep Guardiola (54 years old) was asked about the condition of his goalscorer:
“I didn't speak to him after the game, but I hope he's fine,” the Catalan coach said.
Guardiola avoided going into medical details, but the English press notes that City's medical staff will assess the Norwegian on Monday.
Manchester City, further away from Arsenal
The setback to Aston Villa ended a five-game unbeaten run for Manchester City. Guardiola's side remain six points behind leaders Arsenal, who beat Crystal Palace 1-0.
Liverpool also lost to Brentford, but City did not take the opportunity to climb the table.
“We are trying to close the gap. Arsenal have been a solid team for many years. We don't have to look at the title, but how we can get better. If they win all the games, we will congratulate them. I feel the team is alive and playing well,” Guardiola said.
Haaland, impressive numbers in City's shirt
Transferred in 2022 from Borussia Dortmund, Erling Haaland is valued at 180 million euros and has fabulous numbers for Manchester City:
139 goals and 22 assists in 158 official matches, according to specialist website Transfermarkt.
For the Norwegian national team, the striker has 51 goals in 46 appearances. Before his Premier League experience, Haaland also played for Bryne, Molde, RB Salzburg and Borussia Dortmund.
