After the draw with Craiova University, 1-1 on December 7, CFR's course in the championship was immaculate: six stages, six victories, the most recent tonight, in Arad, even against an opponent for the title.
The 18 points accumulated in the last two months brought CFR back into the play-off equation. The Transylvanians are now hopelessly good, having only two points below FC Argeș, the 5th place holder, and only one below FC Botoșani, with the amendment that the Moldovans have not yet played in this stage.
The recent course delighted the man with the money in Gruia, Ioan Varga. He claims that he is not interested in how the team plays, only the final results.
Ioan Varga, after Pancu took CFR Cluj to a play-off point: “I don't want such spells!”
“I congratulate Daniel Pancu, the boys, everyone! They showed manhood. This is the spirit of CFR, that's why I'm happy to start seeing the team I penciled in at the beginning of my coming as a shareholder.
That's what I wanted to see, a pragmatic, strong formation that wins the 3 points. That's what I'm interested in, I don't want nice play or spells like that.
To play pragmatically, strongly, and pursue the goal of winning the 3 points. If God helps us we reach the top. I congratulate the players once again”, Varga told fanatik.ro.
CFR's first match with Pancu at the helm was played on November 9, a short win (1-0) against Unirea Slobozia. Before the appointment of Pancu, CFR had only 13 points after 14 stages, occupying the place of the barrier.
In just 10 matches under the command of the former youth coach, the “Višinii” have accumulated almost double the dowry (25) made by the previous coaches!
