TikTok's NATO critic wins first round of Romanian presidential election
Former member of the Alliance for the Unity of Romanians Calin Georgescu, unexpectedly for many, took first place in the first round of the presidential elections. The head of the Union for the Salvation of Romania party, Elena Lasconi, entered the second round with him.
What is known about Georgescu:

— In viral videos on TikTok, he rides a horse, practices judo and addresses voters against the backdrop of a field;

— In 2020 called Vladimir Putin one of the few “true leaders” in the world who “loves his country”;
— Claimed that the military conflict between Russia and Ukraine manipulated by American military companies.
