Polish pharmaceutical company with global reach and innovations


Adamed is a company with entirely Polish capital that offers 500 products in 19 therapeutic areas, available to patients in 76 countries. The company has representative offices, among others: in Spain, Russia, Czech Republic, Vietnam, Italy, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Slovakia.
Since 2017, Adamed has owned Davipharm – one of the fastest growing pharmaceutical companies in Vietnam. In 2019, the company acquired shares of the Italian company Ecupharma, establishing a strategic partnership.
According to the EPO Patent Index, Adamed is one of the largest Polish innovators in terms of the number of patents filed. The company has nearly 200 patents in many countries around the world.
Since 2001, Adamed has been conducting pioneering research and development work in Poland, focusing on neuropsychiatric, oncological and diabetic platforms. The company cooperates with research centers in Poland and abroad and supports startups at various stages of development, and over decades of operation it has allocated billions of PLN on investments and R&D activities.
In 2016, the company opened a Research and Development Center in Pieńków near Warsaw, and two years later it launched the R&D Pilot Production in Pabianice, which is a key stage between scientific work and drug production.
Research on innovative molecules
The company has been pointing out for years that one of its greatest achievements are the results of research on innovative molecules. A milestone for the company was the exclusive license agreement concluded in 2020 for a molecule developed in its laboratories. The agreement was signed with Acadia Pharmaceuticals, which specializes in the development of breakthrough solutions in neuropsychiatry.
Adamed emphasizes that this invention, covered by several patent applications, was created by Polish scientists, and the intellectual property rights generated so far during the development of the molecule remain in Polandtaking into account Acadia's rights specified in the agreement.
This technology is the result of research work carried out as part of the neuropsychiatric platform of the Innovation Department. Its development program began in 2014, and work on the molecule was carried out in cooperation with leading research centers in Poland.
