Comprehensive testing of generating equipment has begun at Boguchanskaya HPP

15 May 15:18
The staff of the Boguchanskaya HPP began conducting a series of tests, the purpose of which was to determine the maximum available power of the station’s hydraulic units.
Before the launch of the next tests, the Boguchanskaya HPP receives permission from the Krasnoyarsk regional dispatch department, and employees of the station's Operational Service prepare technological diagrams and operating modes of the equipment.
Certification of HPP generating equipment is periodically carried out in accordance with the rules and regulations in force in the Russian Federation. The order of work and the reliability of the parameters are controlled by a special commission. The actual power of the generator is measured and recorded automatically, which guarantees the accuracy and reliability of the data obtained.
During May, each of the nine units of the station will be placed under maximum load at the pressure existing on the day of testing for 8 hours.
While one of the units is undergoing verification, the remaining operating units carry the load in accordance with the regime established by the Yenisei Basin Water Administration (EnBVU). After completion of the tests, a report will be drawn up on the actual technical parameters and characteristics of the generating equipment.
From May 14 to June 5, the EnBVU, in accordance with the hydrological situation developing on the Angara and Yenisei rivers, established an operating mode for the Boguchanskaya HPP in the flow range of 2800-3700 cubic meters per second. Under the new regime, seven units of the station are constantly in operation, two more are put into reserve. Average daily output is about 55.4 million kWh.
Since the beginning of May, about 1.4 cubic kilometers of water have been accumulated in the Boguchansky reservoir; the reservoir level at the station site has risen to 207.7 m above the level of the Baltic Sea. In accordance with the requirements of the EnBVU, the Boguchanskaya HPP maintains navigation levels at water stations in the lower reaches of the Angara; the river level in the lower reaches on the morning of May 15 was 138.88 m.
