The Minister of Health, Alexandru Rogobete, said on Friday in Iasi, that with the amendment of the legislation in Romania, all public hospitals in the country will be obliged to install video surveillance cameras and keep the recordings for a maximum of 60 days, reports Agerpres.

“In many public hospitals in Romania at the moment there are video cameras, there are also panic buttons, but because there was no legislation, the monitoring cameras did not record images. With the legislative amendment, the health units will be obliged, where there are video cameras, to monitor and record the images for a maximum of 60 days. Where there are none, for two years from the moment of their appearance in the Monitor Officially, to install such cameras”, said the Minister of Health.

Alexandru Rogobete stated that through the projects carried out by the National Recovery and Resilience Program he has already signed over 200 contracts with medical units.

“I can tell you with certainty that, from the PNRR projects carried out by the Ministry of Health, 207 contracts were signed. In fact, there are 207 hospitals. It is an important percentage. More than 70% of them also have such video monitoring solutions and digital alerting systems,” said Minister Rogobete.
