How the mayor of Chisinau, Ion Ceban, his afflation in Moscow on the day of the war in Ukraine, explains
After almost two years in which he refused to provide details about his presence in Moscow on the day the Kremlin invaded Ukraine, Ion Ceban, the Degree mayor of Chisinau and a member of the alternative block, finally offered explanations. He claimed that the Russian Federation was only a transit point, and the final destination should have been exotic Thailand, where it did not reach.

In a TV show, Ion Ceban came with a copy of a visa for Thailand, the country in which he says, was to arrive in February 2022.
“To clarify this question at once and forever, we have taken documents dating from that period today and I wanted to present them in the election campaign for local elections. They were sitting on me on the table. If another document will be needed, I can present it ”, said Ion Ceban.
But asked by the producer of the show if he can show the passport stamps that confirm the departure in the exotic state, Ion Ceban replied that he could not.

Ion Ceban suspended his mayor's activity during the election campaign. The decision was made public six days after the official start of the campaign and only after he returned from Italy, where he had participated in an event organized in Rome, which he went with a limited validity visa, against the background of the entry prohibition in Romania and in the Schengen area for a period of five years. Ion Ceban was targeted by this restrictive measure in July of this year. Remove, the head of Romanian diplomacy, Oana Țoiu, stressed that the measure was applied to Chisinau's mayor because of his links with Russia. In reply, Ion Ceban denied the accusations and announced that he will challenge the decision.

Asked if he confirms or denies that he was on February 24 in Moscow, Ion Ceban avoided answering, specifying that more details will be provided in the coming days.
