“Does the Romanian army have the ability to withstand 48 hours, in the case of an attack, as specified in the NATO regulation? ”, Romanians were asked in an avant-garde survey. Almost half of them I think no.
- According to Avangarde, the survey was conducted by telephone (CATI method), on 920 people over 18 years, from October 6-10. The maximum sampling error, at a 95%confidence level, is +/- 3.4%
According to the Avangade survey on “Perceptions on the Capacity of the Romanian Army”, 49% of those who participated in the survey I think Romania will not resist for 48 hours, in case of an attack. Only a little over a third – 35% cosidated that it is possible. 16% of those interviewed said they did not know or answer.

The most optimistic in this regard were those with higher education – 42% responded with “yes”. A percentage of 30% of those with medium studies answered affirmatively and only 19% of those with a lower level of education than graduating from high school.
What do Romanians think about increasing the arming expenses
On the other hand, ask about the request of the North Atlantic Alliance to increase the defense budget, most-58%, have agreed that I agree, the opinion being majority in all categories regarding the level of education.

Ask if the mandatory military internship should be reintroduced, 48% responded negatively, while a fairly close percentage – 43% said it would be a good idea.

Regarding the drones that violate the air space of Romania, only 10% gave a negative answer, while a total overwhelming percentage said “for sure” or “depending on the situation”.

One third of the respondents said that the danger of Romania being attacked by Russia is high or very high, and a total of 58% appreciated that the danger is small or very small/non -existent.

Also, the survey suggests that most Romanians believe that the government does not manage the defense field well.

When asked about a possible Russian attack on the Republic of Moldova, only 28% said that Romania should help with troops.

Three quarters of Romanians do not want MApN to be led by a civilian, but by a senior officer.
