Poles evaluate Donald Tusk's government. Negative opinions dominate


In October 2025, Prime Minister Donald Tusk's ratings in the polls clearly deteriorated, reflecting the growing public dissatisfaction towards the current cabinet. Although Tusk and his party still top the support rankings, more and more citizens express critical opinions, especially in the context of the economic and social situation.
Many voters accuse the government of failing to take effective action to combat the rising costs of living and problems on the labor market. Criticism also concerns unfulfilled election promises and the lack of visible changes in the health care and education systems. The greatest dissatisfaction is among opposition supporters, but some other citizens are also losing patience with the current government.
How do Poles rate Tusk's government? Survey results
“How do you evaluate the government of Prime Minister Donald Tusk?” This was the question asked to participants in a survey conducted for Wirtualna Polska. The answers paint a clear picture.
The vast majority of respondents, 52.8 percent, answered “negatively”. Among them, 38.7 percent chose the answer “definitely negatively”, and 14.1 percent — “rather negative.”

There are much fewer positive answers. Only 35.5 percent respondents have a positive opinion about the current government. The answer “definitely positive” was given by 11.2 percent. respondents, and 24.3% chose “rather positively”. subjects.
Promises and expectations. Expert on the causes of dissatisfaction
Political scientist prof. Wawrzyniec Konarski, rector of the Vistula University of Finance and Business, noted in an interview with Wirtualna Polska that after the 2023 parliamentary elections, expectations towards Donald Tusk's government were much higher. He pointed out that despite favorable economic indicators, the current cabinet does not enjoy good ratings.
According to prof. Konarski, the government took on too many obligations, which he called “Tusk's pacts”.
— Unfortunately, the government has a very bad information policy. He also took it upon himself too many different types of obligations that can be called “Tusk's pacts” (…). As a result, the government choked on a set of promises that were — somewhat inflationally — delivered – says the WP interlocutor.

In his opinion, the excess of promises made has led to a situation in which the government is unable to fulfill them, which results in a deteriorated image in the eyes of society.
The expert also emphasized that internal disputes in the ruling coalition often take place in public, which is not conducive to building a positive image of the government. According to him, such situations show that there are many controversial issues among those in power, which does not help in gaining public trust.
