To the homes of residents of the Krasnoyarsk microdistrict. Michurinsky will soon begin to supply water from two water intakes simultaneously, KrasKom said.
Currently, the actively developing industrial site of the closed Sibelektrostal plant is part of the water supply circuit of the former departmental water intake, built by the metallurgical enterprise for its production needs on Verkhny Atamanovsky Island.
The microdistrict will receive an additional volume of cold water through a new pipeline that will connect this water intake structure with another one on the neighboring Nizhny Atamanovsky Island.
The “water supply ring” is being laid using horizontal directional drilling on the border of a residential complex in the area of Aralskaya and Energetikov streets. During construction, polyethylene pipes with a diameter of 400 mm are used, which differ from metal pipes in that they have better throughput due to a smooth internal surface, as well as high corrosion resistance and a long service life.
“Initially, we planned to change the historical drinking water supply scheme of the factory industrial site next year,” notes Oleg Goncherov, general director of KrasCom. “However, taking into account the ever-increasing need of new buildings at Michurinsky for cold water for drinking and hot water supply, as well as fire fighting, we acted proactively and will build a new water supply section by the end of this year. Connection to the city water supply of the neighborhood networks of the microdistrict will be carried out by their owner – Krasnoyarsk Grid Company. By the beginning of December 2025, we will create all the necessary conditions for the owner of the water pipelines in Michurinsky to join the Nizhneatamanovsky water intake circuit.”
Let us remind you that in 2021 on the street. Tchaikovsky, the first bridge was built between the water intake structures of the Atamanov Islands. This allows for the period of a planned shutdown to prepare one water intake for winter to supply drinking water to Clinical Hospital No. 20 and the Krasmash plant from another water intake structure.
