On Tuesday on Radio Rodzinski, Sikorski was asked about planned meeting of US President Donald Trump with Vladimir Putin, to be held in Budapestand speculations whether the Russian dictator could go to Hungary by plane, for example, flying through Polish airspace, into which Russian planes are not allowed.
In response, Sikorski said that “we are unable to guarantee that an independent court will not order the government to stop such a plane in order to bring the suspect to the tribunal in The Hague.” Vladimir Putin has been subject to an arrest warrant issued by the International Criminal Court in The Hague since 2023, as he is suspected of committing war crimes.
