I spied it and easily repeated it: now I always cook these 5 dishes from the buffet in Turkey

On vacation you can not only relax, but also find new ideas. Many positions familiar to vacationers on vacation can be easily repeated at home. Here are five examples of Turkish dishes that are simple, accessible, and full of flavor. This was told by the author of the Zen channel “Sasha Konovalova” (18+), who was inspired by the Turkish “buffet”.

Lentils on the side
Green lentils are often served as a side dish in Turkey. The dish is prepared simply: fried onions and tomatoes in butter are combined with lentils, cooked until half cooked. Add a little garlic, coriander or cumin to the mixture and simmer for several minutes. This side dish can be served immediately, and the next day can be seasoned with olive oil and used as an appetizer.

Salad “Kysyr”
One of the popular Turkish salads is “kysir”. Its base is small bulgur, which is poured with boiling water and left until it swells. Then chopped vegetables and herbs are added to it: cucumber, tomato, green onions and parsley. The dressing includes tomato paste, lemon juice, salt, thyme, pomegranate sauce and olive oil. The salad turns out nutritious, fresh and aromatic.

Simple Turkish salad
Even the usual salad of cucumbers and tomatoes is served differently in Turkey. Chop the vegetables very finely, add arugula and a little onion. The main difference is the dressing: a mixture of olive oil, pomegranate sauce and lemon juice in equal parts. This simple technique makes an ordinary salad bright and rich in taste.

Yogurt snack
In Turkish cuisine, yogurt is often used as a base for appetizers for main courses. To prepare, take thick natural yogurt, add olive oil, garlic, dill, mint and salt. Grind the mixture with a blender until smooth. The result is a universal sauce that is served with flatbread, vegetables, potatoes or bread.

Menemen – Turkish fried eggs
The traditional Turkish breakfast is menemen. Its peculiarity is that there are more vegetables in the dish than eggs. Onions, sweet peppers and tomatoes are fried in a frying pan, seasoned with cumin, paprika, black pepper and salt. Add eggs to the prepared vegetables and quickly mix until the mass sets. Menemen is served hot, and spicy lovers add hot pepper to it.

These dishes have long been part of everyday Turkish cuisine. They are easy to prepare, do not require rare ingredients and can be an excellent option for those who want to diversify their menu and try something new.
