Last Sunday, October 19, the annual mass cross-country race “City Skyrunning” was held in Krasnoyarsk for the thirteenth time. The mayor's office spoke about this.

327 amateur and professional runners from the Krasnoyarsk Territory, Moscow, the Republic of Buryatia, Irkutsk and Tomsk regions conquered the Nikolaevskaya Hill. The organizers prepared a special track for the competition participants. Its length was 6.8 kilometers with a total elevation gain of 400 meters. The route had to be overcome for a while.

Skyrunning fans were divided into three age groups: from 16 to 18 years old, from 19 to 35 years old and over 35. Winners were determined in each category and received medals and memorable prizes.

“Every year, skyrunning as a sport is gaining more and more popularity among athletes. For us, the organizers, the priority is a well-prepared route and ensuring the safety of participants,” said Grigory Nakalyuzhny, director of the Travelers Center youth center. — This year, in addition to athletes from Krasnoyarsk, participants from other regions of the country came to us. It’s nice that they note the high level of training and the beauty of our nature.”

The 310 fastest participants received a finisher's medal. The most experienced athlete was 70-year-old resident of Zheleznogorsk Valentin Kudymov. He completed the course in 58 minutes 28 seconds. The fastest was Pavel Tarasov from Divnogorsk, his finishing time was 29 minutes and 41 seconds.

“I prepared for the event purposefully, combining training in the mountains and high-speed running on the highway. I tried to stay fresh for the start, because the track is short, but very dynamic – with constant changes in terrain. The most difficult thing was to distribute the forces – after the first steep climb it is important not to “sour” and maintain the pace until the finish. The weather turned out to be cool, but the atmosphere at the start and the support of the spectators gave additional energy,” said Pavel Tarasov.

In addition, in Krasnoyarsk they organized a hike for everyone along the skyrunning route. Those who did not dare to take part in the race were able to assess their strength to participate next year.

We would like to remind you that earlier in the regional capital, more than 200 participants in the extreme sports show “Big Race” climbed the Torgashin Stairs.
