AfD politicians outraged at Poland. “Becoming an ally of terrorists”

The meeting, during which the decision was made whether to extradite Volodymyr Zhuravlov, suspected of blowing up Nord Stream, to the German side, began on Friday after… 11. The man was brought to court from custody.

– First of all, you are free. Request by the German authorities to extradite Volodymyr Ż. does not deserve to be included. At the outset, it should be strongly emphasized that the subject of the proceedings is not to determine whether the person being prosecuted has committed the act accused of him by the German side, but only whether the act may constitute the basis for the execution of a European Arrest Warrant, said the judge.

The person conducting the hearing pointed out that the Polish court did not have any source evidence in the case. — As part of the EAW, the German side only sent very general, formally required information regarding the act. This German order is correctly prepared, but contrary to information provided in some media, the information sent by the German side regarding the act itself can be fit on one page of A4 paper, he explained.

The German right wing is furious

The Polish court's decision caused enormous dissatisfaction among the German far right. Kay Gottschalk, a member of the Bundestag from the AfD, reacted to Tusk's entry. “The Polish state is becoming an ally of terrorists,” the politician wrote on the X platform, demanding penalties for Poland in the same post.

“Stop EU funds, secure borders, strictly control work visas, expand customs checks on illegal employment. If nothing changes, our vision of tomorrow's Europe will be in doubt,” Gottschalk added.

“Have I already mentioned that Poland has been really getting on my nerves for a long time? There is almost no difference compared to Ukraine,” added Hans-Thomas Tillschneider from the AfD.

“The state cannot protect the alleged perpetrators of the attack without risking serious political and diplomatic tensions and consequences. Whoever protects saboteurs becomes their accomplice,” wrote Tomasz Froelich, an AfD MEP with Polish roots.
