Russia Summons German Ambassador Amid Rising Diplomatic Tensions

On Monday, the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that it had summoned the German ambassador in Moscow, accusing Berlin of backing Ukrainian attacks on Russian civilian infrastructure through military cooperation and arms deliveries to Kyiv, according to reports.
The ministry informed the German ambassador that Russia deems Germany’s increasing support for Kyiv unacceptable.
Led by Sergey Lavrov, the ministry cited military cooperation agreements, direct arms supplies, and joint projects involving drones, missiles, and other weapons that, according to Moscow, are being utilized in attacks on Russian civilian infrastructure.
In recent weeks, both Ukraine and Russia have intensified their attacks on each other’s infrastructure, with both sides denying that they target civilians. Western countries, including Germany, are providing military and financial assistance to Ukraine.
The Russian Foreign Ministry also criticized Germany’s stance on third-country relations with Russia, including the ties between Russia and China.
Earlier in July, Germany held urgent discussions with the Chinese ambassador in Berlin regarding reports that China was training Russian soldiers.
