Invited in a show at Digi24 on Tuesday, July 1, Deputy Prime Minister Dragoş Anastasiu appealed to the common sense, saying that “Those who have benefited the most should gather the belt,” But, on the other hand, he says that the laws, “as they are”, will be used, even if this creates dissatisfaction and “seems an abuse”.
He also says that in a few days the discussions with the main financiers will be finalized, and here it refers to the European Commission and the rating agencies, and that the full fiscal package will be announced, which he himself characterized as a new “train ordinance”.
Although no government wants to start their mandate with salary cuts and tax increases, the Deputy Prime Minister states that at this moment “We are behind the wall from the point of view of time”because until July 7, these measures must be passed through the Parliament, to avoid lowering the country rating in Junck.
He also explained what the plan of the new government is to recover the 30 billion lei budget deficit: 10 billion from the rethinking and repriver investments, that is, renouncing some of them, considered insignificant, 10 billion lei from “tax adjustment”, in fact their increase, and 10 billion lei from the reduction of expenses.
Regarding the so-called “non-sensitive” expenses, Dragoş Anastasiu states that they are everywhere, not only to a few institutions that have already been mentioned by Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan, and that it is intended to start serious controls “everywhere we see an abuse”.
