Following the investigations carried out, the police established that, around 04:30, the owner left the car with the engine running in the parking lot, in order to defrost his windshield, and after approximately 30 minutes, when he returned to the car, he found that it was no longer in the parking lot, according to Agerpres.

In a short time, the alleged perpetrator was identified, a 23-year-old man from the municipality of Topliţa, states IPJ Harghita.

From the administered evidence it emerged that the young man would have stolen the car left unattended, and later he would have been involved in two road accidents, resulting only in material damage, the first occurred in the municipality of Topliţa, and the second within the radius of the city of Borsec.

The young man was tested with the breathalyzer, the resulting value being 1.13 mg/l of pure alcohol in the exhaled air. The man was taken to a medical unit for the collection of biological samples, in order to accurately determine the blood alcohol level.

At the same time, the checks carried out in the databases of the Romanian Police showed that he does not have a driver's license for any category of vehicles.

The young man was later taken to the headquarters of the Topliţa Municipality Police for questioning, and following the administered evidence, the police ordered his detention for 24 hours.

During Sunday, he will be presented to the case prosecutor from the Prosecutor's Office attached to the Topliţa Court, with the proposal to order a preventive measure.

A similar case occurred in July this year, when a 26-year-old man was detained after stealing a car from a parking lot in District 1 and driving it without a driver's license.

We remind you that in November, a drunk and unlicensed driver, pursued by the police, damaged three cars in Sibiu. His passenger ended up in hospital.
