U Cluj – FC Botoșani, 2-0. Ioan Ovidiu Sabău announced that he is resigning

Cluj University suffered another defeat, 0-2, at home against FC Botoșani, in the 13th stage of the SuperLiga. Immediately after the match played at Cluj Arena, coach Ioan Ovidiu Sabău announced that he was resigning.

According to digisport.ro, the technician made the decision shortly after the final whistle, declaring that he would resign as the team's coach. However, his departure is not yet certain, given that Sabau made a similar announcement after the lost match last season, 1-2 with Csikszereda.

At that time, he had publicly stated that he no longer wished to continue at Cluj University, however, during the international break, the club management managed to convince him to stay on the bench.

The match between Cluj University and FC Botoșani ended with the victory of the guests, score 0-2. George Cîmpanu opened the scoreboard in the 53rd minute, and the French Hervin Ongenda established the final result in the 68th minute. The Cluj players also had a goal disallowed in the 64th minute, due to an offside position.

After this success, FC Botoșani consolidates its leading position, having 28 points, three more than the second place holder, Rapid Bucharest. Instead, “U” Cluj remains with 14 points and occupies the 10th place in the ranking.
