“On Friday, May 30, we managed to perform a cardiac transplant, and the emotion and joy were exponentially higher than the other two transplants that were performed during the last 6 days. It was due to the fact that we managed to impress this heart, to transplant this new girl, and there are more than 14 years. The fact that the donor was, I understood, a child, a 15 -year -old boy from Iasi, who suffered a brain trauma and for this reason was declared brain death.Dr. Horaţiu Suciu, from Iubcvt, told the press on Monday, writes Agerpres.

The doctor said that the patient had implanted a mechanical assistance device, the so-called artificial pump or heart, as it was in a very advanced stage of heart failure.

“In December 2023 I implanted this device for the 14 -year -old girl from Teleorman County, with whom she had a very good quality of life. But, of course, being an extremely intelligent and connected little girl, she wanted to be transplanted, to get rid of the partial discomfort of this device, and a power of life, Little inferior to the transplant. days'Horaţiu Suciu stressed.

The representative of the DOUCVT Târgu Mureş made an appeal to the families in such tragic situations, as the family from Iasi, to give their acceptance for the donation of organs, as such a gesture can save many other lives.

“I plead in this way for the acceptance of donation, because so we can help our fellows and we prove that we are people. There are many children, unfortunately, on the waiting list, who lose their lives faster than adults.”said Suciu.

The National Transplant Agency announced on Facebook that in the last week there were two organ samples and tissues, “thanks to the generosity of families who said 'yes' donation in the hardest moments, thus giving a new chance to life in Romania.”
