The post appeared after Putin’s telephone conversation with US President Donald Trump, during which the Kremlin head tried to influence the possible transfer of Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine.
Dmitriev turned to the richest man in the world, American billionaire Elon Musk, who until recently had good relations with Trump.
“Elon Musk, imagine connecting the United States and Russia, America and Afro-Eurasia, with the Putin-Trump Tunnel, a 70-mile bridge symbolizing unity. […] Let's build the future together,” he wrote.
Putin’s special representative claims that the “traditional cost” of the project is estimated at more than $65 billion, but the technology of The Boring Company (provides services for the construction and equipment of tunnels), whose founder is Musk, will allegedly reduce this cost to less than $8 billion.
Dmitriev illustrated his tweet with images of a hypothetical route between Chukotka (RF) and Alaska (USA).
Before this, Putin’s representative published a reminder that it was proposed to connect the United States and the Russian Federation back in Soviet times, and they called this project a bridge [35-го президента США Джона] Kennedy – [главы СССР Никиты] Khrushchev.
Musk has not yet commented on Dmitriev’s proposal.
