During April 2026, Ukrainian air defense forces shot down more than 4.8 thousand Shahed-type drones and more than 90 missiles launched by the aggressor country Russia. The Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported this on May 2 on Telegram.
In total, the following air targets were shot down:
- 69 Kh-101 cruise missiles;
- seven Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles;
- eight Kalibr cruise missiles;
- four X-59/69 guided aircraft missiles;

Earlier in the day, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that since April 27, Russia has fired approximately 1,600 attack drones, nearly 1,100 guided bombs and three missiles into Ukraine.
“The Russians are trying to overload our air defense with massive attacks, and therefore the supply of missiles is very important every day,” he said.
