“On Ukrenerho's order, emergency power cuts were introduced in the Kiev, Dnipropetrovsk and Odessa regions” – said DTEK, the largest private energy operator in the country.

The whole of Ukraine without stable electricity supplies
The Ministry of Energy announced that emergency shutdowns apply in… all regions of Ukraine except Donetsk and Chernigov. However, the situation in Chernihiv Oblast is also tense – Ukrenerho is leading three rounds there planned, hourly power outages.
According to the authorities, the latest wave of problems has two main sources: October 15 Russian attacks damaged energy infrastructure in several regions, leaving some customers without power. Simultaneously energy demand increased by 4%.which, with limited production capacity, forced operators to introduce emergency breaks.

System under pressure ahead of winter
Ukrenerho and the Ministry of Energy warn that Ukraine's energy network is once again under enormous pressure, and further attacks on infrastructure may lead to longer and more frequent outages.
The authorities appeal to residents energy savingespecially during peak hours, and to prepare for possible supply disruptions in the coming weeks.
The situation is to be monitored on an ongoing basis, and outage schedules may be updated depending on the network load and the scale of damage.
