Adrian Streinu-Cercel: “My elbow hurts from the budget deficit. As a citizen, I feel oppressed”

Adrian Streinu-Cercel, president of the Senate Health Committee and former Minister of Health (PSD), said on Thursday, at Profit Health.forum, that he is not interested in the budget deficit and that investments are needed for Romania's development.

“Regarding the budget deficit, my elbow hurts from the budget deficit! It's total bullshit, right? It doesn't matter. Romania was the only country in the socialist camp that paid off all its foreign debts to zero. And it was in surplus in '89. So leave me with the budget deficit! When the World Bank or the IMF comes or someone else comes, take the pen, how much have you had? No more you have! What to see?! Do you know what the Wall Street crisis was like? They went to bed at night with money and in the morning they were on zero. Why? From the pen. So it's easier with the piano on the stairs, because it's out of tune”said Adrian Streinu-Cercel, at Profit Health.forum.
Confronted by representatives of health companies, the professor answered:
“I'm not interested in the deficit. We need to make investments and develop Romania. And I wouldn't have wanted to enter politics, but the PSD came with a government program, with the industrialization, re-industrialization of Romania. They fought to bring down Ciolacu and the program went to hell. So these are us Romanians. Do we want to do something? Let's see in our backyard what we can do and how far we can take it forward”also said the president of the Health Commission in the Senate.
“At the moment, I, as a citizen, feel oppressed”
Adrian Streinu-Cercel explained how he would like the Executive to be:
“Do you know how I would like a government to be? Not to know about it. Not to know who the minister is. Neither there, nor there, nor there. I had periods when I had no idea who the ministers were, that they changed (…) but I, as a citizen, should not feel oppressed”.
According to him, currently “there is no governing”, only cuts are being made.
“At the moment, I, as a citizen, feel oppressed, that I don't know what awaits me, that they come again with the television, they give another message. No message is good, everything is twisted. (…)… Let the government be there, to govern, because now there is no government. Now there are cuts”explained Streinu-Cercel.
The PSD senator added:
“When you have gold in the ground, when you have salt in the ground, when you have gas in the ground, you have everything and you do nothing, why do we complain? Why do we complain? We have all this and we don't exploit it”the parliamentarian also declared.
We remind you that, in September of this year, former Minister of Finance Marcel Boloș revealed that former Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu told him that “it hurts him in the genital organ of deficiency”, denied by the latter.
