Pope Leon XIV, an amateur rider, received an Arabic blood on Wednesday, an unusual gift, from a believer, owner of a ponytail, announced the Vatican, according to France Presse and Agerpres.

The 12 -year -old horse named Proton was donated by the parishioner to be sold for a charitable auction, the Vatican's press office said.

The images given to the Vatican advertising show the leader of the Catholic Church, before his general audience in the Vatican, walking alongside the white horse, holding him visibly relaxed.

Before choosing Pope, Robert Francis Prevost used to ride in Peru, where he served as a missionary for about 20 years.

“When I saw the photos with the future pope riding in Peru, I came up with the idea of offering a beautiful Arabian horse, one worthy of him and white, because the white is associated with the papal sutana,” said Michalski News, owner of the Michalski Herghelia in Kolobrzeg-Budzistowo.

“Pope was delighted” by this gift, he added.

The popes receive numerous gifts from believers or celebrities, often sold for auction for charitable purposes.

During his 12-year pontificate (2013-2025), Pope Francis received, among other things, two donkeys and a Lamborghini in the colors of the Vatican.
