Russia changes only under the pressure of military defeat


Radosław Sikorski visited Great Britain, where, together with representatives of Ukraine, the USA and the hosts, he presented the Iranian Shahed-136 drone, used by Russia in the war against Ukraine. The drone, captured in Ukraine thanks to the cooperation of the United Against Nuclear Iran (UANI) organization and the Polish government, was displayed in the British Parliament building – Westminster. The visit also included a meeting with the head of British diplomacy, Yvette Cooper.

In his speech, Sikorski spoke about the threats resulting from Russia's aggressive policy, emphasizing that Great Britain, like Poland, is a victim of the Kremlin's hybrid actions. He pointed to cases of poisoning, arson and spying on British critical infrastructure by Russian units. He also drew attention to Moscow's actions towards Poland, such as cyber attacks on public institutions, arson attacks and sending migrants from Belarus.
– We must face these challenges together and that is what we are doing, emphasized Sikorski, appealing for further support for Ukraine. In his opinion, Russia can be forced to change course if the West shows determination to defend the Ukrainian state, army and defense industry.
The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs recalled that in the past, Russia lost key wars such as the Crimean War, the conflict with Japan in 1905, and the Polish-Soviet War in 1920.
— Russia reforms only when it loses a war. Therefore he must lose this war tooboth for the good of Ukraine and peace in Europe, Sikorski said.
The politician also referred to the incident from September, when Russian drones violated NATO and European Union airspace by flying over Poland.
— 21 drones crossed the Polish border, many of them shot down by the Polish and Dutch air forces, he recalled. He added that NATO's detection systems and command structure passed the test at that time, and the alliances turned out to be solid.
Eduard Fesko, charge d'affaires of Ukraine in the UK, also spoke during the event. He pointed out that over 100 components from Western countries, including the USA and Europe, were found in Iranian drones used by Russia. — To stop the Russian drone threat, we must both develop more effective methods of neutralizing them and cut off supplies of components to Russia, Fesko emphasized.

Mark Wallace, former US ambassador to the UN, reported that Iran sold approximately 6,000 weapons to Russia. Shahed-136 drones that are used to attack Ukraine. — Russia cooperates with those who are against all of us. We are talking about North Korean soldiers, Iranian weapons systems and Chinese funds and equipment, Wallace noted.
British parliamentarian Tom Tugendhat, representing UANI, drew attention to the long-term nature of Russian aggression against Ukraine.
— The brutal aggression we are seeing in Ukraine has been going on not for three, but for 11 years. The West's weakness is a provocation for Russia, and capitulation leads to violence, he concluded.
