Cristian Diaconescu, presidential adviser on national security and head of the president's Chancellery, told Digi24 that Donald Trump sent an official invitation to Nicușor Dan to pay a visit to the United States. For now, the date of the visit has not been fixed.

“There is an official invitation from President Donald Trump. The two had a very good dialogue a month ago (at the NATO summit in The Hague – n.red.). The invitation was formally transmitted,” said Cristian Diaconescu.

The date of visit remains uncertain for now

He welcomed the involvement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the preparation of this visit, specifying that it is not yet known what will be the exact date of the visit.

Invited to comment on the criticisms of President Nicușor Dan related to the composition of the delegation with whom he made a recent visit to Germany, in which the majority of the dignitaries were USR ministers, who also added the mayor of Timisoara, Dominic Fritz, the president of the Union, Cristian Diaconescu said that the delegation was held in German. to each ministry.

Thus, in addition to Foreign Minister Oana Țoiu, the fact that Germany is the main economic partner of Romania and the interest for the projects in the Armament Industry envisaged by the EU justifies the presence of Radu Miruță (Economie) and Ionuț Moșteanu (defense). Regarding the presence of Fritz, Diaconescu mentioned that, in Germany, the German minority in Romania is considered “a family”.
