Kallas: The EU already has 2/3 of the ammunition initiative for Ukraine

The head of EU diplomacy Kaja Kallas said on Monday that two -thirds of her initiative to provide two million pieces of artillery ammunition for Ukraine are ready. She added that the Sunday rocket attack on sums is proof that you need to increase support for Ukraine and pressure on Russia.

Kallas marked before the meeting of EU foreign ministers in Luxembourg that the attack on the sum occurred a month after Ukraine agreed to suspend the weapon.

The attack took place on Sunday before noon, the bullets fell on the center of the city located in northeastern Ukraine, when people, among others They returned or went to the church in connection with the Palm Sunday also celebrated in Ukraine. Many also walked around the boulevard in the central part of the sum. At least 34 people were killed and 117 were injured.

Kallas emphasized that “we see the bloodiest attacks” in which civilians die.

“It is clear that we need to support Ukraine more and I am happy that we already have two -thirds of my ammunition initiative together,” Kallas said. It is about transferring 2 million artillery ammunition to Ukraine, the cost of which is estimated at EUR 5 billion.

“I think that we must have maximum pressure on Russia to really end this war, because both sides must want peace, but one that wants war is enough and we see that Russia really wants war” – emphasized the head of the EU diplomacy. (PAP)
