Clean dishes from the dishwasher should sparkle and not leave a whitish residue, a greasy film or a “stagnant” smell. But even with regular use, over time, stains appear on glass and ceramics, and grease and food debris accumulate inside the machine. Especially if you often wash at low temperatures or forget to clean the filter.
The reason is fatty deposits, detergent residues and scale in the pipes, filter and on the walls. But you don’t need to buy expensive anti-raid pills. You already have everything you need at home.
You will need:
- Vinegar 9% – 100 ml
- Baking soda – 2 tablespoons
How to do:
- Pour baking soda into the bottom of the empty dishwasher.
- Pour vinegar into the rinse aid compartment or place a cup of vinegar on the top shelf.
- Run the hottest cycle (usually “intensive wash” or 70°C).
- After the end of the program, remove the filter, rinse it under the tap, and leave the door ajar for a couple of hours.
Vinegar dissolves grease and scale, and baking soda absorbs odors and polishes surfaces. Together they remove plaque deeper than any expensive product and leave no chemical smell.
After the first cleaning, the dishes will shine without streaks, and the sticky residue inside the machine will disappear.
