“I just finished the conversation with President Emmanuel Macron. Main topics: Polish -French Treaty, customs war, nuclear cooperation and security issues” – wrote on the platform X Tusk.

The head of the government joined a photo showing how he talks to the French president in the video conference formula.

Macron emphasized, also in the post on platform X, that “in these restless times it is crucial to act together and face common challenges.” “I am happy with a very substantive conversation, which I just had with the Polish prime minister Donald Tusk,” Macron wrote.

He said that he discussed the progress with Tusk in the preparation of a bilateral treaty, which is finalized between Poland and France.

“In strategic areas – defense, energy, nuclear energy, transport, scientific, linguistic and cultural cooperation – this treaty will strengthen even more ties between our countries. See you soon in Nancy” – concluded Macron.

Personally, Tusk and Macron met at the end of March this year. In Paris, on the occasion of the “Coalition of Volunteer Coalitions” – allied countries of Ukraine, with the participation of EU and NATO representatives. Tusk said after this meeting that the treaty between Poland and France was being finalized. As he said, there are many indications that it will be groundbreaking when it comes to mutual security guarantees.

“It would also be another step to make the realization of what we call security guarantees for Europe, for Poland,” said the head of government. “Our Polish position is accepted all in extent – as part of this European and Natural vision of peace and security,” he emphasized.

In January, the Minister of Foreign Affairs Radosław Sikorski spoke about finalizing work on the treaty with strengthened friendship and cooperation between Poland and France. He argued then that the new treaty would be an important impulse for Polish-French relations, and its finalization will take place in the coming months. (PAP)
