Videos released by the Telegram channel “Supernova+” show that the Sigma hypermarket is on fire.
The fire in the Sigma shopping center on the Slavyansk-Donetsk-Mariupol highway due to a drone attack was confirmed by Russian propagandists.
“Actually, the abandoned Auchan itself burned down in Donetsk. The occupiers renamed it Sigma,” Donetsk journalist Denis Kazansky emphasized in Telegram.
Context
Russian invaders occupied part of the Donetsk region, including the regional center, in 2014. In 2022, the aggressor country of the Russian Federation launched a full-scale offensive.
Ukrainian defense forces regularly strike Russian military targets, particularly in the Donetsk region. Thus, Donetsk found itself under massive attack at the end of June 2025.
