The load on the emergency medical service in Krasnoyarsk remains high. As Oksana Churekova, press secretary of the Krasnoyarsk ambulance station, said, operators receive up to 1,500 calls from citizens per day.

As Churekova noted on the Krasnoyarsk Main radio, approximately a third of all calls are related to symptoms of acute respiratory viral infections and influenza. At the same time, as Moskovsky Komsomolets in Krasnoyarsk writes, a representative of the department reminded the townspeople about the correct distribution of the medical load.

“High temperature in itself is not always a reason to call an ambulance. If the fever lasts less than three days, and the patient’s condition is generally stable, it would be better to seek advice from a physician or pediatrician at the clinic. It is important to understand that emergency doctors do not issue certificates, do not issue sick leave certificates and do not prescribe planned treatment – their task is to provide emergency care,” explained Oksana Churekova.

The specialist emphasized that there are clear criteria under which calling an ambulance is necessary and justified. These include:

Body temperature is 40 degrees or higher, which does not decrease after taking antipyretics and persists for more than three days.

A combination of high fever with severe symptoms: intense headache, convulsions, loss of consciousness or severe shortness of breath.

In other cases, according to the expert, contacting the emergency service at the clinic or the doctor on duty will help relieve the emergency medicine system and allow ambulance teams to quickly reach patients with truly life-threatening conditions.
