Sorin Grindeanu explains the moment when he left the room at the UDMR Congress: “From the perspective of Romania there is only one official anthem”

The President of the Chamber of Deputies and the interim leader of PSD Sorin Grindeanu, explained his gesture to leave the room at the UDMR Congress, when the Szekler anthem was played, news.ro.

“Yesterday I talked to the UDMR Congress, where I went with pleasure, about the unit. Yesterday, in my speech, I spoke and thanked Prime Minister Viktor Orban for the role he had last year and we must all recognize, in Romania's entry into Schengen. Let us not forget that last year, under the president of Hungary. Schengen, where we were kept at the door about 13 years.

He expressed regret that he was emphasized from the event only that he left the room at the time of the Szekler anthem.

“I'm sorry that only this issue was underlined,” Grindeanu added.

The interim president of the PSD said that he has many colleagues from the UDMR, but that Romania has only an official anthem.

“I have a lot of colleagues in the UDMR that I respect and I have this feeling of respect, and for many of them and friendship, as I have for President Kelemen Hunor, for Cseke Attila, for Tanczos Barna. I respect the friendship with some of them. But yesterday I talked about unity.

The President of the Chamber of Deputies, Sorin Grindeanu, participated in the UDMR Congress on Friday, but left the room when the Szekler anthem was played. Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan remained in place.
