The US will send about 200 soldiers in the coming days in Israel, confirmed on Friday for the I24News Israeli television station, an American manager, writes Agerpres.

Everyone should arrive until Sunday, according to the same source. Their mission: setting up a coordination center for supervising international efforts in Gaza during the transition period before establishing a permanent government in the Palestinian territory.

This center, which will be based in Israel, will also have the role of coordinating humanitarian and logistical actions, but also of facilitating the communication between different international actors involved in Gaza.

“The goal is to avoid chaos, so that everyone can communicate and work together,” explained the American manager.

According to this source, as the Israeli defense forces (IDF) will progressively withdraw from the Gaza Strip, other countries would carry out their own contingents to ensure security on the ground, before setting up a stable administration.

Thus, the respective coordination center will have representatives of each state and organization involved in managing the post -war situation in the Gaza strip.

The American official also stated that this system will allow to monitor the implementation of the fire termination agreement and to verify compliance with the commitments made by the different parties.

“Without American troops on the field in Gaza”

The spokeswoman for the White House, Karoline Leavitt, said that this group of 200 American soldiers, coming from the central (US Central Command) will be responsible for the supervision of the peace agreement and the close collaboration with the international forces on the ground.

However, Washington insists on an aspect: no American soldier will be held inside the Gaza strip. “There will be observers and maybe drones for air monitoring, but without American troops on the field in Gaza,” the cited official stressed.

This device marks a new stage in the direct involvement of the United States in the post-conflict phase in Gaza, while the international community tries to avoid a security vacuum and lay the foundations of a stable future for Palestinian territory.
