The newspaper “Birobidzhan Star” (12+) in the section “Birobidzhan Chronicle” wrote that a sausage factory, headed by Persky, began operating in the city of Birobidzhan.

Kustpromsoyuz opened a soap factory that produces laundry soap.

The newspaper contains information that a second excavator has arrived from Khabarovsk and will begin driving piles for the construction of a bridge across the Bira River.

The newspaper “Birobidzhan Star” wrote that the famous writer, honored artist G.Ya. returned to Birobidzhan for permanent residence. Kobets, author of the script for the film “Seekers of Happiness” (18+). Grigory Yakovlevich Kobets will work in Birobidzhan on literary works and scripts about the construction of the region.

The newspaper further reports that, by resolution of the regional exhibition committee, the participants of the All-Union Agricultural Exhibition from the Jewish Autonomous Region were determined: collective farms named after. Stalin and “Red October” of the Stalinsky district (now Oktyabrsky district); collective farms named after Mukhin and the “First of May” of the Blyukherovsky district (now Leninsky); collective farms named after Postysheva and “Ikor” Smidovichi district.

A ballet circle began to work at the Birobidzhan House of Pioneers, the circle is led by an artist of the theater named after. L.M. Kaganovich Comrade Kogan. Classes are held twice a week.

March 21, 1946

D. Weisserman’s book “Birobidzhan: Dreams and Tragedy” (12+) tells that A. N. Bakhmutsky, together with the collective farmer of “Waldheim”, deputy of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR from the JAO Shifra Markovna Kochina, spoke to representatives of the Jewish community of Moscow, where they described the prospects of the region. Almost the entire editorial staff of the newspaper “Einikait” (12+) was present at the meeting. In his speech, Alexander Naumovich Bakhmutsky spoke about the construction and development of the region:

“The Jewish Autonomous Region now has great opportunities to accommodate tens of thousands of Jewish settlers. The Soviet Jewish community is obliged to assist in the construction of the region—Jewish statehood in the Soviet Union. This is a matter of honor and glory for the Jewish people in the USSR.”

Shifra Cochin spoke about the great possibilities for the resettlement and settlement of Jews in the Jewish Autonomous Region. She especially focused on the work of the Valdgeim collective farm, which holds the Challenge Red Banner of the Khabarovsk Regional Committee of the All-Union Communist Party of Bolsheviks and the Regional Executive Committee. The reference and information publication “Streets of the City of Birobidzhan: According to Documents from the JAO Archive” (0+) states that by order of the mayor of the city of Birobidzhan dated March 21, 2006 No. 423, in accordance with the Charter of the municipal formation “City of Birobidzhan”, for the purpose of uniform application of the name of the avenue, it was decided to consider the correct name – AVENUE OF THE 60TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE USSR.

The avenue was formed in 1982. Previously, along the line of the future avenue, in 1981, the House of Pioneers and Schoolchildren, or currently the Children's Creativity Center (CDC), was erected. Later, in 1984, the regional Philharmonic, as well as the Post Office and Rostelecom buildings, were built on the avenue.

On the Avenue of the 60th Anniversary of the USSR there is the building of the Government of the Jewish Autonomous Region, a square with a monument to Lenin, the regional court of the Jewish Autonomous Region, the Wedding Palace, the memorial complex “Border Guards – Defenders of the Amur Borders”, etc.
