The plane crash of the Angara Airlines An-24 plane in Tynda, Amur Region, could have occurred due to a pilot error when choosing a flight altitude. Writes IrkutskMedia news agency with reference to the head of the Federal Air Transport Agency Dmitry Yadrov.
The IAC Commission continues to investigate the An-24 plane crash that occurred on July 24, 2025. The Federal Air Transport Agency also takes part in establishing all the circumstances and causes of the incident. Dmitry Yadrov said that one of the main reasons for the ship’s crash is considered “a crew error when setting the pressure on the barometric altimeters and flying below the required trajectory.”
“To date, the field stage of the investigation in Tynda and Irkutsk has been completed. A preliminary study of the seized documents on the organization of flight work, flight crew training, and aircraft maintenance was carried out. To prevent aviation accidents associated with crew errors when setting the pressure on barometric altimeters and flying below the required trajectory (we consider this reason as one of the main ones – the head of the Federal Air Transport Agency clarified) during the climb and descent of the aircraft, Rosaviation in August 2025 sent recommendations to civil aviation organizations on flight safety in order to prevent such disasters in the future,” noted Dmitry Yadrov.
