However, there was nothing left of the millions of euros stolen. At the hearings, several Romanians said they were addicted to gambling and cocaine and that they spent the money obtained from the stolen.
They had come to Ruhr, western Germany, to work, but then they were recruited for crimes.
Piper R., 34 years old, would have recruited thieves and coordinated them from a distance. The members of the group, sentenced to penalties between 3 and 5 years and a half of prison, described it as “Big Boss ”.
The Romanian did not comment on the accusations. However, he is considered an experienced thief. Piper R. was sentenced to 21 years for the first time, also for organized theft, in Luxembourg. For the same crime, he has been punished in Germany, Belgium and Romania, and is now for the fifth time after the bars.
