The Craiova University Football Club confirmed, on Monday, the transfer of the offensive midfielder Alexandru Mitriță to the Chinese team Zhejiang FC, through a post on the Facebook page of the Bănie group.

“The story between the science and the 'atomic dwarf' will never stop. Neither now nor later. Given what the supporters mean, the club and the city for him, Alex will always return to Romania only at home, in Craiova. He writes in the statement of Craiova University, according to Agerpres.

“Much success in your new adventure at FC Zhejiang, Alex! We are all with you and we are sure that you will be proud of everything you do,” the club added.

Mitriță, who scored 19 goals last season and scored 8 goals for the University in 37 matches played in Superliga, will be the first Romanian to play at Zhejiang FC.

The club of regretted striker Gabonez Aaron Booupendza (ex-Grass), who died in April, ranks 10th in the Chinese football superlig, with 17 points from 14 stages.

In China, two other Romanian footballers, midfielder Alexandru Ioniță II (Yunnan Yukun) and striker Alexandru Tudorie (Wuhan Three Towns) play in China.

The sports press in the country recently reported that defender Andrei Burcă would also sign with the newly promoted Yunnan Yukun.

Craiova University has been separated this summer by the North-Macedonian defender Gjoko Zajkov, the Brazilian striker Allison Safira, the Bosnian striker Jovo Lukic and the midfielder Stefan Bană, borrowed at Otelul Galați.
