Two Polish Border Guard officers injured in Georgia. They were attacked with a knife


As PAP learned, the incident took place on Wednesday after a return operation organized jointly with the European Border and Coast Guard Agency (Frontex). The officers were allegedly attacked with rods and a knife.
The attack on Polish officers was confirmed in an interview with PAP by the press spokesman of the Commander-in-Chief of the Border Guard, Lt. Col. Andrzej Juźwiak. — A group of Border Guard officers were attacked in Tbilisi. As a result of this incident, two of our officers were taken to hospital with serious head injuries. One has undergone surgery and the other is undergoing surgery, said the Border Guard spokesman.
He added that all officers are under consular care, the Polish liaison officer, and the two injured officers are under medical care. — The exchange of information is still ongoing. We are in constant contact with the officers, he said.
He noted that the return operation concerned Georgians and Pakistanis obliged to leave Poland. – The investigation is being conducted by the local police and this is all we can say at the moment – added Lt. Col. Juźwiak.
