The study conducted by the European Commission showed that the overwhelming majority of Poles (70 percent) support the joining of subsequent countries to the EU. 23 percent compatriots are against the expansion of the community, the opinion on this subject is not 7 percent. of them. The biggest opponents of joining the community by other countries are the Czechs (53 percent), Austrians (50 percent), French (48 percent), Germany (47 percent) and Belgians and Italians (43 percent each).

Respondents were also asked about their attitude to join the EU of individual countries with the status of candidates. Support among Poles is greater than or equal to the EU average. For example, the entrance of Moldova to the community supports 52 percent compatriots, while in the entire EU this percentage is 48 percent. Every second Pole (50 percent) wants Bosnia and Herzegovina and North Macedonia to join the community, which gives a result higher by two percentage points than the EU average (48 percent).

The exception is Ukraine – its entry into the EU supports 51 percent. Poles, while throughout the Union this percentage is 52 percent. In Poland, the percentage of opponents of Ukraine's entry into the EU is higher by one percentage point (42 percent); The average for the community is 41 percent.

The entrance of Ukraine to the EU is supported by the vast majority of citizens of the Nordic and Baltic states. There is 91 percent behind it Swedes, 81 percent Danes and Finns, 72 percent Lithuanian, 64 percent Latvia and 61 percent Estonians. Ukraine's aspirations to join the community also supports above average a lot of Irish and Spaniards (67 percent).

The most opponents of Ukraine's accession are in Hungary and the Czech Republic (64 % each).
