The PSD reacts to Ponta's accusations, regarding the involvement of the party in the scandal triggered by Lasconi. “It is a lie and a slander”
The Social Democratic Party is disappointed with Victor Ponta's statements regarding the involvement of the formation in publishing photographs with Elena Lasconi, qualifying the accusations as “lies and slanders”.

The Social Democratic Party transmitted on Friday, May 2, an official statement categorically rejects the accusations launched by the independent candidate Victor Ponta. He had suggested that the PSD would be behind the publication of photos with Elena Lasconi, recently published in the public space.
“The Social Democratic Party is firmly delimited by the accusations brought by the independent candidate Victor Ponta in connection with the pictures presented in the public space by Mrs. Elena Lasconi”, The statement said.
Social Democrats believe that Ponta's statements are false and harmful: “What Victor Ponta says is a lie and a slander for which he will have to bear the legal consequences.”
In addition, PSD accuses that such practices do not belong and ironize the former prime minister: “The Social Democratic Party has not used and will never use such practices that he is talking about, which are common and come from the experience of Mr. Victor Ponta ”.
We recall that the images distributed in the public space by Elena Lasconi suggest a supposed meeting between Victor Ponta, Florian Coldea and Nicușor Dan.
Both Nicușor Dan and Victor Ponta denied the authenticity and veracity of the information. Also, Florian Coldea, the former operational head of the Romanian Intelligence Service, rejected any involvement, denying, on Friday morning, that such a meeting would have taken place. In addition, Nicușor Dan and Victor Ponta filed criminal complaints at DIICOT against Elena Lasconi.
