The Poznań authorities have been taking steps for a long time to encourage people living and working in the city to register there permanently. As officials emphasize, many residents of large agglomerations in Poland are still registered in their hometowns, which means that they settle their taxes there.
From September 1, higher prices for public transport tickets and parking fees in Paid Parking Zones for people from outside the city, including those not registered, apply in Poznań. The new competition is intended to be another step towards encouraging residents to register in the capital of Greater Poland and settle personal income tax here.
