The effects of the Barbara cyclone. Red Code in Bucharest and five counties, dozens of firefighters overnight in affected localities, ports are closed

Most of the country is under the yellow, orange and red code of heavy rains, vijeles and snowfall in the mountains, at least until Wednesday night. The most severe time, caused by the Barbara cyclone, was forecast for Bucharest and five counties, which are under warning until 3 pm.

Until 3.30, the authorities carried out numerous interventions to manage the effects of adverse meteorological phenomena.

In the 30 localities from 14 counties-Argeș, Brăila, Buzău, Caraș-Severin, Constanța, Călărași, Dâmbovița, Galați, Giurgiu, Ilfov, Ialomița, Prahova, Teleorman, Tulcea-and in the municipality of Bucharest, the water was evacuated, housewives and 25 courts.

Also, there were intervened to remove the construction elements from 6 buildings, the release of 35 trees and an electricity pillar, which damaged 22 vehicles.

In the town of Otopeni, Ilfov County, a tree collapsed on national road 1, blocking the traffic in the sense to Ploiești, and the teams of ISU Bucharest-Ilfov intervened for its release.

Due to the strong wind, the maneuvers in the ports of Constanța county were temporarily suspended. In addition, traffic has been restricted in several areas for everyone's safety.

Schools and kindergartens closed due to weather

The municipality of Bucharest and Constanța, Călărași, Ialomița, Giurgiu, Ilfov counties are until 3 pm under a red code for torrential and abundant rains. As a result of the warning given by meteorologists, the authorities decided to close the schools and kindergartens in the Capital and the five counties. Also, the courses take place without physical presence at the University of Bucharest, SNSPA, Polytechnic and at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Bucharest.
