The authorities of Belarus hide information from the population about fleeing Russian drones – the media


Referring to monitoring projects, journalists write that the first UAVs began to fly to Belarus in July 2024. Since then, Russian drones fly to Belarus “almost regularly” and their appearance often coincides with massive blows in Ukraine.

It allocated several groups of drones flying into Belarus.

The first group is the so -called transit, when the Russians direct their drones to Ukraine through Belarusian territory. Such UAVs can fly along the border of Belarus and Ukraine for a certain time before going to the goal in Ukraine.

Israeli military expert David Gandelman suggested that in such cases there is coordination between the military of the Russian Federation and Belarus, so such drones do not knock down.

Another group of drones in the airspace of Belarus is Russian drones who fell under the influence of Ukrainian electronic warfare means. In this case, the UAV “begins to circle and make strange movements.”

Experts believe that “everything rests on a political decision”, therefore, in the vast majority of cases, the “flight” drones in Belarus do not knock down, although they can.

At the same time, some experts are skeptical of the possibilities of Belarusian air defense.

The Rady Svaboda writes that Belarusians are pursuing for mentioning the drones over their houses, but the country's authorities secretly purchase funds from UAVs (in particular, drone detectors) and teach enterprise managers to fight drones.

Context

Earlier, repeated messages about the Hall in Belarus of shock UAVs appeared, which Russia attacks Ukraine.

In particular, in July 2024, according to the monitoring channels, five Russian Shahed and four Russian drones flew into Belarus.

During the Russian drone attack on the night of August 29, Belarus first raised fighters to knock down the drone. On September 5, Belarusian aviation probably shot down Shahed.
