The head of EU diplomacy Kaja Kallas said on Monday that Europe should play an important role in the Peace Council, which is to enforce the implementation of the peace plan in the Gaza Strip, proposed by US President Donald Trump.

– We assess that Europe has an important role (to play) and that we should also become part of this – Kallas announced, answering the journalist's question about whether the EU will take part in the Peace Council.
According to the plan presented at the end of September by Trump, this institution is to supervise the execution of the 20-point plan to end the war in Gaza.
According to the agreement, Hamas would have to renounce power in this Palestinian half -ancient and put a weapon. Apolitic Palestinian officials would exercise power there under the supervision of the International Council of Peace, whose boss would be Trump himself. It would also include the former prime minister of Great Britain Tony Blair, considered the author of the proposal on which Trump's plan is based. (PAP)
